Wildflower season is upon us. Driving out through Struan towards Carbost, the land is covered with a blue haze.
Portnalong has swathes of bluebells as far as the eye can see. The roadsides are deeply fringed with them and cow parsley is now making an appearance, along with vetch and verdant new bracken.
The air is fragrant with perfume as the breeze blows in from the sea, wafting the scent inland.
